A gentle, inclusive approach to rebuilding self-esteem, reducing social anxiety and coming home to yourself.

Many of us grow up and go through life with a quiet feeling that something about us is wrong.

Our self-talk echoes the messages we've absorbed about what's acceptable to other people and who we're allowed to be.

What if self-doubt and social anxiety make sense in that context?

This is where our work together begins.

I'm not here to "fix" you. I'm here to help untangle the messages you've received about yourself and to build a more solid, grounded sense of self-worth.

A way of showing up in the world that feels authentic and steady.

A sense of yourself that you genuinely love and can celebrate.

The support I offer

I use a gentle, evidence-based approach called Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, which combines CBT with hypnosis.

Together we explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviour patterns behind self-doubt and social anxiety, while helping you to calm your nervous system and learn new ways of responding to self-critical thoughts and in social situations.

This work is collaborative, compassionate and focused on change.

“I liked your calm listening approach. You let me talk about my experience without trying to change it, and you gave me choices and suggestions."

- Deborah, Brighton

I work with thoughtful, sensitive people who:

• Often feel “not good enough”
• Hide parts of themselves to fit in

• Hold themselves back
• Find themselves performing, or people-pleasing... and feel drained by this

This may especially resonate if you:

• Grew up Queer/LGBTQ+ in unsupportive spaces

• Were often the only person with your ethnicity,  culture or background in the room

•Had a body or brain that didn't fit the norm

•Lacked role models who affirmed your right to be

Of course you started to question yourself.

Of course you became vigilant.

Of course you believe you are "wrong".

I'm Maria Antoniou (she/her)...

A Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist specialising in self-esteem and social anxiety from a socially-informed and inclusive perspective.

I support people whose confidence has been shaped - and shaken - by the messages they’ve received from family, culture, and society about who they are and who they’re supposed to be.

My practice is built on creating welcoming, safe spaces where every person feels included, valued, and supported.

We work together to help them feel more comfortable with themselves and with allowing themselves to be seen.
